Congratulations to Steven Osborne on his OBE!

We are thrilled to announce that Steven Osborne was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List 2022 for services to music, recognising the huge contribution made by Steven to UK cultural life.

In the 1730s, many composers tried their luck in London, where many other treasures were in preparation: Geminiani revolutionised instrumental writing with his famous treatise on interpretation and presented an amazing version of La Folia; his pupil Avison orchestrated concertos by Scarlatti, and Porpora ventured away from opera to rediscover the vocality of the cello with one of the most beautiful concertos of that period. Ophélie Gaillard and Pulcinella treat us to a frenzied and poetic night in London. They meet Geminiani, Hasse, Scottish composer James Oswald and virtuoso cellist Giovanni Battista Cirri. Guest artists Sandrine Piau and Lucile Richardot take on magnificent vocal pieces by Geminiani and Handel – Faustina Bordoni and Francesca Cuzzoni would have been seriously envious, that’s for sure!

After Ravel's Piano Concertos and Falla's Nights in the Gardens of Spain, Steven Osborne's latest Debussy release on Hyperion has received high praise from critics including as Editor's Choice in Gramophone Magazine

September 2017, JAMES JUDD continues his tenure as Music Director and Principal conductor of the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea, a position he has held since September 2016 and starts his collaboration with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra as Music Director and Principal Conductor.

He will be conducting seven pairs of subscription concerts and the opening of the 2017 Bratislava Music Festival.

The British conductor James Judd becomes the new Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra for an initial three year period with effect from the orchestra's 69th season 2017/18.  In his first season he will conduct six double concerts and the opening concert of the 2017 Bratislava Festival.  His next visit is scheduled for May 2017 with two different programmes, one featuring ErnőDohnányi's second symphony, the other Beethoven Symphony No 7.

Maestro Judd, who is also chief conductor of the Israel Symphony Orchestra and New York’s Little Orchestra Society, as well as principal conductor of the Asian Youth Orchestrasays of his new appointment "I feel proud and privileged to be connected to this orchestra which has such a profoundly interesting historical background.  I am looking forward to continuing and developing the wonderful tradition of this great Slovakian cultural icon."

Ophelie Gaillard has been appointed cello professor at the Haute Ecole de Musique in Geneva

We are pleased to announce Philippe Bianconi has been recently appointed director of the American Conservatory of Fontainebleau.
Founded in 1921 to introduce young American musicians to the best French musical tradition of composing and performing, this prestigious institution, directed for many years by the great Nadia Boulanger, has included in its faculty such names as Maurice Ravel, Marcel Dupré, Robert and Gaby Casadesus, Henri Dutilleux and Betsy Jolas.

Some of the most famous American composers such as Aaron Copland, Elliott Carter, Virgil Thompson or Philip Glass studied in Fontainebleau.

Philippe Bianconi succeeds to Philippe Entremont who was the director from 1994 to 2013.

Four months after winning the RPS Award for « Instrumentalist of the Year » and four years after his Gramophone Award for his recording of the Britten Piano Concerto, Steven Osborne has won his second Gramophone Award, this time in the Instrumental category for his CD of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and solo works by Prokofiev.

The Award comes at the start of a season which sees Osborne present a concert series at the Wigmore Hall, “Spotlight on Steven Osborne”. His five solo and chamber music concerts will feature works ranging from Beethoven, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and Ravel to Pärt and Tippett.

April 2013, simultaneous release of Tedi Papavrami's autobiography and a box of six CD's of his works for solo violin by Bach, Paganini, Scarlatti and Bartok.

For the first time, thanks to an agreement between a Publisher (Robert Laffont) and a Label (Zig-Zag Territories), book and music are also gathered in an enhanced digital version.
